History of the Business and its Employees

The two founders members of G³ have well over 40 years experience in the IT industry and for the past 20 years have used this experience to provide skills via their own IT Consultancy company based in Great Britain, the Netherlands and Norway, and are now based in Christchurch, New Zealand. They have gained the reputation for providing quality, top-rate consultancy services and this reputation has evolved with the company.

Some of their satisfied customers include Vodafone (UK), Sun Microsystems, Philips Medical Systems, Shell, Nike, DHL and Dutch Telecom.

Steve Holdoway

Steve has mainly Unix/Linux-based skills, with decades of experience in managing corporate systems running just about every flavour of these operating systems published. These skills also incorporate the administration of relational database systems (PostgreSQL and MySQL currently), and the presentation of complex services and data feeds to Microsoft-based desktop users.

Steve has also gained a reputation for prototyping ideas, having liaised with surgeons and specialists to help develop image processing functionality for the Philips Bodyscanner, and more recently landing a multi-million pound project by developing a database-driven pattern matching package to catch fraudulent users of Vodafone mobile phones. In addition to the providing remote systems admininstration and monitoring services worldwide, he is currently developing back office systems and integrating the unintegratable.

Jules Holdstock

Jules has extensive experience in supporting Microsoft servers and products, and Project Management. She is able to administer and manage a company IT infrastructure as well as training users on how to get the best out of these products. Jules also has a reputation for managing complex, multi-centre, multi-cultural projects, delivering on time and on budget. Nike and KPN Qwest are her major achievements. Whilst she has been working in the IT Industry her internal and external communication skills have assisted in providing a strong and confident presence in her working environment.

Jules is also a UK qualified Accounting Technician and has been able to adapt those skills to the New Zealand market place. She has experience using MYOB to trial balance and also various Payroll packages such as ACE Payroll. These skills mean that the company can start to offer the WHOLE package for any business. The "one stop shop" concept.

Both Steve and Jules believe that by combining their skills into a complete package they are able to offer the Canterbury IT market a unique product - Project Management, Server Support, Database Management, Web site production, Help-Desk Support and Training, Book-keeping and Payroll with just one phone call.

Currently...

Since moving to New Zealand and starting up G³, Steve has been working as a Computer Consultant for a number of companies, including providing top-level server and database support for a leading edge anti-spam software house within the Christchurch city limits, systems administration and server monitoring functions for a number of companies based worldfwide, and bespoke webserver development for a number of projects - all using open source products of course. These roles have put G³ very firmly on the map within the IT community of Christchurch city.

Jules has been able to enhance her qualifications and as such provides a more gentle approach to the requirements of Canterbury's computer users. She offers a one-on-one computer familiarisation training course within homes around the area. Julie also qualified as an Accounting Technician at a stage in her career and has used that knowledge to train and offer completely confidential accounting software services.

She has recently worked within Christchurch providing Administration Manager/System Administration skills to a major retail company.
